EMBROIDERED TEXTILE – “The Echo of Midnight”
Muslim Asia (likely Ottoman Empire or Persia) – ca. 1880–1920

Artistic Description:
“The Echo of Midnight” is a rare fragment from the front panel of an unfinished ceremonial blouse, crafted from high-quality black silk.
The intricate floral embroidery, made by hand using metallic gold thread, reveals the skilled hand of a master artisan.
The deep black background and the luminous gold create a striking visual contrast, evoking the elegance of twilight and silence.

Historical Context:
This type of gold embroidery was traditionally found in ceremonial and court garments across the Islamic world during the 19th and early 20th centuries.
It may have belonged to a blouse worn during special occasions or religious rituals.
The technique and materials are consistent with textile workshops from the Ottoman Empire or Persia, where silk and gold were symbols of wealth, nobility, and reverence.

Dimensions: 57 x 40 cm
Weight: 62 g
Condition: Excellent for the age of the textile. This is a fragment of antique textile. The embroidery is almost intact, with no stains or tears, as shown in the photos included in the description. It is recommended that the textile be framed for better protection.

Provenance: Private collection of the AStücke family, part of a collection of oriental textiles preserved in antique trunks brought from Asia by previous generations of the family. The piece arrived in perfect condition, with no alterations or subsequent interventions.
