Hostory:
West Sumatra, well known as Ranah Minang, has a traditional batik product called Batik Tanah Liek (clay). It is called tanah liek Batik because the dying process begins by dipping into clay. In short, tanah liek batik is not that different from other batik in general. But it has exclusive and unique performance, especially the production process and the dye material used. However, along with the market demand, this tanah liek batik is not only brown in color, but finally it is also colored with other sources of natural dyes such as Phitecolobium skin, Nephelium skin, gambier, mahogany skin, etc. The materials are also made of cotton. or silk. The motifs are varied, such as climbing plants or tapered roots, curves of fern leaves, top bamboo shoots, etc.
